Amateur Birdwatching

Before we left our campsite at Kammerslusen we walked a little on the surrounding mudflats and salt marshes. I took our binoculars and was thrilled to see several lapwings.

At the massive lock gates we saw many house martins (who were nesting in the nearby hotel eaves) and swallows nesting in the lock gates. It was wonderful seeing them all swoop and dive and zoom past.
