Melanddan on a Ferry (and a strange fishy smell).

The midnight sun had all but vanished when we awoke this morning. Any residual brightness receded into the distance as we sailed from Bodo to Moskenes on the Lofoten Islands.

By the time we approached the Lofoten islands three hours later things were looking pretty grim:

By early evening the winds dropped, the rain eased and the skies cleared. We are staying in a small fishing village called Reine, about 10 minutes by bus from the ferry terminal in Moskenes.

The codfish drying on the racks in the harbour give the place a pervasive fishy smell which was immediately apparent when we got off the bus! You get used to it after a while.
