Å

The road from Reine heads west past the ferry port for a few more kilometres at which point one reaches the most western point in the Lofoten accessible by road. The succinctly named village at the end of the road is called Å. The village is home to a small cluster of houses, a fishing museum and most importantly a bakery reputed to bake the best cinnamon buns on the islands. Mellany is rather partial to cinnamon buns so that a visit to Å was high up on our must do list.

On our way back from Å we stopped at the viewpoint just prior to the turn off to Reine and got some fantastic views of the village and fjord in the sunshine.
